PDc Wardrobe System

Conventional wardrobe systems for cleanroom or hygienic clothing are designed exclusively for the storage of clothing. Execution, design and technology usually differ insignificantly. The PDc wardrobe system from Ortner, on the other hand, is a completely new process for flexible and safe disinfection of clothing.

The technology: photodynamic disinfection is based on lighting technology in the lockers and specially manufactured and dyed clothing. In addition, the wardrobe cabinets are standard cleanroom cabinets with mechanical ventilation and HEPA filters, which protect the clothes from contamination. A sophisticated technology guarantees not only an energy-optimized function, but also a safe surface disinfection of the textile. The PDc wardrobe system is designed for small businesses with single occupancy as well as for large wardrobes with a high flow of personnel.

The lockers are made of special HPL panels and are available as single lockers or lines of lockers. Built-in tube lighting technology and electrical engineering with occupancy monitoring, process control and safety system are included. The operating status is indicated by LED signal lights. Occupancy monitoring guarantees that no operation occurs when the cabinet is empty.

"In the research area at the German Heart Center Munich, we have relied on Ortner's photodynamic decontamination technology for several years. By using PDc clothing in combination with the PDc personal air shower, personnel can be effectively decontaminated while clothed. After work, the clothing is placed in the PDc wardrobe, decontaminated and ready for repeated use. This system eliminates the need for disposable clothing and constant changes of clothing. The added benefit is that the special PDc garments are more comfortable to wear than other RR protective suits."
